It’s fantastic to know that my son is so well cared for while I’m at work. One of the many things I love about bringing him here is how Larraine does schoolwork with him. He basically gets private tutoring with her. The amount he’s learned (reading, writing, math, etc.) is amazing! She makes it fun for him and keeps him engaged. I have known Larraine for over four decades. She and I have been good friends throughout this time — even though we now live in different states. Whenever we’re together, we simply pick up where we left off and bring each other up to date… because we know each other’s hearts that well.
Larraine and I are very different in some ways. I’m always drawn to her outgoing and expressive personality. If I had to describe her in one word, it would be passionate — about whatever she does. I wasn’t surprised when she retired from being an accomplished businesswoman to run her in-home daycare that she would be any different. She renovated her home beyond what you could imagine, bringing a wide array of toys and games into her new environment.

Every parent knows that finding daycare is hard. Our first concern is safety and security, second is cost, and somewhere in between is how we feel when we leave our children with someone.
I had just moved here from out of state with literally no one. Larraine was one of the first people I met during my search for suitable daycare so I could start my new job.
She was kind, intelligent, caring, and down to earth. That was six years ago. Over the years, she has become family to us. She has helped my children grow up — and I don’t mean the “Here’s a TV show, let me know when you’re hungry” kind of growing. She took the time to teach my children, feed them, do arts and crafts, special projects, and games with them. During the summer, her home basically became a water park for everyone to enjoy. It reminds me of when we were kids and got to go to our grandparents — because that was our parents’ daycare for us.
I know my kids are safe because now that they’re all grown up, they just want to go over to Larraine’s to visit her, Tom, and their cats. How cool is that?

To say that Larraine is a great babysitter is an understatement. That doesn’t fully express how much she cares about each child personally or how interactive she is with them. She doesn’t just sit them in front of a TV and leave them to entertain themselves. Instead, she’s very involved, and if they are watching TV, it’s typically educational, with Larraine working alongside them to ensure they understand and are learning.
She has tons of educational materials for all ages. I know she has given many young children a head start for school by teaching them how to read, write, and even do some math! But she also plays with them and freely gives hugs and snuggles so every child feels loved and cared for.
Larraine is also flexible and accommodating with people’s schedules. It’s a home-away-from-home environment that emphasizes total care for a child’s mind, body, and soul — leaving everyone feeling confident and happy about their childcare situation.

I would like to give a brief review of Larraine Boyd and her childcare performance.
First, Larraine is the very best when it comes to caring for infants and preschoolers. Her home is beautiful, clean, and filled with activities for play. She has designated places for each child to sleep or nap. She is very careful and attentive with the kids. Larraine prepares wonderful food, and her home is just as fun on the outside as it is inside.
Larraine treats her little friends with such care and kindness that they feel truly valued, and she treats all the children the same way. She is gentle and patient when children misbehave, using timeouts, asking them to surrender a toy, encouraging apologies, or teaching them how to be peacemakers with others. Whatever the situation, she always handles it well. The children love her! As a parent, I love that they love her. No parent could ask for more — that’s the best part of it. I am completely at peace knowing the kids are in her care.
She engages with the children throughout the day in all activities. They are always excited to arrive, especially when she plans special events like trips to the library, parks, or crafts. Larraine has always been an over-the-top fun and caring person for everyone, especially the children in her care.
Based on my experience, she is every parent’s dream daycare provider. She treats every child at their own level, and all children feel her love. I would highly recommend Larraine as the best caregiver you could find!
